Anterior-posterior (AP) image
- AP images are of inferior quality to PA images (posterior-anterior)
- The cardiothoracic ratio (CTR) is exaggerated on AP images
- As a general rule the heart should not be considered large if the CTR is increased on an AP view
- Note that the view is also lordotic which further exaggerates heart size
