Quality
- PA Projection - PA(scapula retracted)

- Inclusion/Inspiration/Penetration - adequate
Findings
- Massive right pleural effusion with - 'white out' - 'meniscus sign' (arrow)
- Mediastinal shift? - assessment difficult due to rotation - but the right main bronchus is displaced (asterisk)
- Cannot comment on heart size - as right heart border not visible

Interpretation - Image 2
(Roll over image to show findings)
Quality
- Projection - PA
- Rotation/Inclusion/Inspiration/Penetration - all adequate
Findings
- Chest drain in situ (red tube)
- Pneumothorax (*) - no evidence of tension
- Residual effusion with 'meniscus sign' - one edge appears horizontal (orange line) due to direct interface of pleural fluid with air
- Correct term therefore 'hydropneumothorax'
- Cannot comment on heart size - as right heart border not visible
